Santa Muerte launched on November 1, which is known as the Day of the Dead and is the celebration from which the cigar gets its inspiration. BnB was one of three retailers that did an early National Sales release the weekend prior to the release.
The cigar is made at the company’s Fabica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua, using an Ecuadorian habano wrapper and binder with fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and the San Andrés region of Mexico. The blend is described as a medium-bodied smoke by James Brown, creator of Black Label Trading Co. and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra.
This is an incredibly complex blend that impresses on all levels.
“We have gone out of the box on the Santa Muerte,” he said in a press release, adding that the cigar uses six filler tobaccos to create a unique and rich flavor profile. “You experience layer upon layer of coffee, malt, spice and cocoa,”
Santa Muerte is being released in two sizes.
