The Tatuaje Cojonu series of cigars debuted in 2003 and released in three year cycles. The 2012 release of the Tatuaje Cojonu has three separate blends, the Broadleaf wrapped Reserva (which I am reviewing today), along with the Habano, and the Capa Especial which features a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. The Reserva and Capa Especial lines were offered in a limited release back in March in books that contained twelve of each cigar, and the full release of all three blends occurred in August at the 2012 IPCPR. “Cojonu” is short for “Cojonudo” which translates to “ballsy” in English, which refers to the lines bolder strength and flavors.

The 2012 Cojonu is offered in a Connecticut Broadleaf, Sumatran, and Habano wrapper, all over Nicaraguan binder and fillers.

The 2009 Cojonu uses a Nicaraguan Corojo Ligero wrapper, over Nicaraguan binder and fillers.
